Pritzker School of Law Conference
Please join us for a two-day convening intended to reflect on the last 100 years since the passing of the 1924 Indian Citizenship Act and its impact on the sovereignty of tribal nations, and also, more importantly, to invite thought and imagination of Native American and Indigenous futures moving forward. This event is part of CNAIR’s ten-year plan to create collective engagement with the many layers and dynamics that are implicated both by the historical conditions that have created the present and what is critical in exercising self-determination over the next 100 years. We will bring together experts from various Tribes and multiple disciplines for four plenary sessions:
- Panel I: Historical insights from the last 100 years of the Indian Citizenship Act for the next 100 years
- Community Panel: Local Native leaders discuss policy & initiatives
- Panel II: Changes in the perspective for the future
- Keynote: Raphael Wahwassuck, Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation
- Panel III: Engaging institutions for societal change
