CNAIR Affiliates
The community at CNAIR fosters an innovative, Indigenous-centered intellectual space open to multiple modes of engagement for faculty, students, staff, and community members. This community of researchers represents a diversity of disciplines in the humanities, learning and physical sciences, engineering and applied science, public health, journalism, law and communication. By supporting and connecting individuals from these different disciplines, the center seeks to enhance the impact of Northwestern’s interdisciplinary research initiatives.

If you’d like to take a more active role in the interdisciplinary community facilitated by the center, please consider becoming a CNAIR affiliate. Affiliation with CNAIR is inclusive and extended to all who aim to advance the mission and development of the center. Affiliates are expected to actively participate in center-sponsored activities including seminars, symposia, recruiting new faculty and students, and project development; and exhibit an enthusiasm and willingness to work and provide leadership.There are many benefits to being a CNAIR affiliate including: (1) funding opportunities for new collaborative research, (2) regular announcements about Native American and Indigenous events and news, (3) networking opportunities with other affiliates in the CNAIR research hub areas, (4) administrative support for new projects and proposal development, (5) research opportunities for undergraduates and (6) the opportunity to be featured on the CNAIR website, annual report, and other promotional materials.
If you are currently at Northwestern and interested in becoming an affiliate of CNAIR please send an email to cnair@northwestern.edu with you interest. In the subject please include CNAIR Affiliate Application. We will follow up with an application form where you can provide your CV, research interests, collaborations, and project highlights. If you are not currently at Northwestern, we cannot accept applications without nomination from a current affiliate and review and approval by the advisory council.
