Reserve a Space at the CNAIR House
We now have three spaces available for reservation by community members for meetings, studying, and other activities! Below are details and booking information. We also keep a google calendar updated so that you can see what is happening at the CNAIR house.

Hours of Operation
Monday - Friday from 8 AM - 5 PM; meetings/events after 5 PM must be communicated with CNAIR team so that your group can be sure to close up the CNAIR house. Saturday and Sunday (Advance Registration Only; subject to approval of Director)
Guidelines and How to Reserve
Students can secure a space on a walk-in basis (space permitting) or by making an advance registration by reviewing the events calendar and emailing Michaela Marchi at michaela.marchi@northwestern.edu
NU Health and Safety Guidelines must be observed. Be sure to wipe down your workspace with the provided cleaning supplies upon arrive and when leaving.
Use of Technology
Conference/Zoom capabilities available in the Collaborative Learning Space. Advance reservations are required for use of technology. Use of copier/printer is allowed.
Upon Arrival
- Ring doorbell at 515 Clark Street
- Sign in at front entry hall (QR code)
- Go to available/reserved spaces - If there is a meeting in the main space and you need a place to study please use space upstairs or check-in with Michaela to use work-study spaces in the administrative offices.
While in a Space
- Respect those around you and adhere to the talking rules pertaining to the space. Quiet sign will be placed for meetings or writing time.
- While in a space, do not leave your items unattended. The on-site staff is not responsible for watching your belongings.
Facilities FAQ:
- Can I use the coffee, tea, or water machine?
- Yes!
- Can I use the toaster, microwave, and refrigerator?
- Yes, please help yourself to the packaged snacks and sparkling water for students and visitors. If you use dishes, please wash them after use.
- NOTE: This is a nut free zone, please do not eat nuts in the CNAIR house
- What do I do if there's a facilities emergency, e.g. plumbing issue?

Leaving a Space
When you're ready to leave a space, wipe down your workspace with cleaning supplies & gather your belongings, and sign out of the building. Make sure all windows and doors are shut and locked. Turn off lights, cooling (in summer), and fans to save energy. Make sure the fridge is shut all the way.
