Graduate students selected for Newberry Consortium for American Indian & Indigenous Studies (NCAIS) programs

Three Northwestern graduate students were selected to conduct research and present their work at several Newberry Library programs.
Enzo Toral (Performance Studies and 2018-2019 CNAIR graduate fellow) will attend the NCIAS spring workshop, on “Sovereignty and Survivance in Spatial Archives and Urban Landscapes,” held at Oklahoma State University.
Cordelia Rizzo (Performance Studies) and Risa Puleo (Art History) will each present at the 2020 NCAIS conference, held at the Newberry Library in February. Rizzo’s paper is titled “Transnational Affective Mapping/The Map of Touch”; Puleo’s paper is titled "Searching for Water on Dry Land: Ecological Degradation and Biopolitical Displacement in the Indigenous Farmers of Tultepec v. Spanish Rancher Covarrubias Map.”
